Description

RotoMetals Regalv Lead Free galvanizing repair stick restores the corrosion resistant zinc-like finish on galvanized plates, shapes, pipe, rods, sheets, etc. after welding,
cutting, abrasion. Recoats burnt galvanizing.
Also coats the weld and prevents rust. Rubs on a hot surface like a crayon, coating easily and permanently.
Each bar measures approximately 13.5" long x .75" wide x .25" - .375" thick. Regalv Lead Fee is an alloy of Tin, Zinc, and Copper.
Sold by the bar, but each bar weights about ~ 1 pound, so 10 bars can be 9 to 11 pounds
General Procedure
Prepare the surface to be repaired by sanding or wire brush. Regalv Lead Free has a broad slushy range of 390F to 570F (200C to 300C).
When heated, the slurry can be shaped and spread easily to blend seamlessly with the existing galvanized coating.
The slurry can be built to a substantial thickness, even on vertical surfaces.
Hot Dip Galvanizers:
Small defects in the surface of freshly galvanized steel can be easily repaired with Regalv Lead Free. Typically, residual heat is sufficient to melt and apply Regalv Lead Free.
The high zinc content provides excellent cathodic protection and the repair blends and bonds with the original galvanizing.

Fabricators and Welders:
In the shop and field, galvanized surfaces are often damaged by cuts and welds.
Due to its moldable nature, Regalv Lead Free can be applied to a substantial thickness in almost any orientation.
The solder penetrates deep into cracks and imperfections to provide a seamless protective barrier.
On Galvanized Iron, Regalv is indispensable.
On Black Iron, Regalv prevents formation of rust pockets in the weld or on other surfaces requiring rust proofing before painting.
On Rusted Iron, Regalv re-coats, adheres, and inhibits further rusting.
Regalv, a product of modern metallurgy, goes on faster, smoother, with a firmer bond, and surpasses original galvanized surfaces in corrosion resistance.
Regalv, is a true meal coating (not a paint), and does not age to a whitish powdery appearance. It tends to darken slightly when weathered, and maintains its true metallic hue.
1 bar of Regalv cover approximately 1 square foot. It can vary depending on skill level of the person applying.

How To

Repair Galvanizing Right with Lead-Free Regalv
Regalv solder is a new lead-free formulation designed specifically for high quality repairs to
galvanized steel surfaces. Regalv is simple, effective and easy to use, in both manufacturing
and field applications. Just like the original galvanizing, Regalv metallurgically bonds to the
steel, for a seamless protective barrier. Regalv  exceeds performance standards as specified
by ASTM standard A780-92 for repair of galvanized coatings.
Regalv has been designed to accomplish three important objectives:
Provide excellent cathodic and barrier protection, far superior to zinc paints and alternative lead solders in abrasion resistance, adhesion and hardness,
Allow easy application at low temperatures with any heat source,
Produce a lead-free composition to address environmental and health concerns.
