Casting Retainer Putty 1 Pound

I would recommend this product.

I got this casting putty to damn up around a shaft as I was pouring new babbitt bearings. I was surprised to see on the packaging that the material was flammable. I needed to heat up the shaft and the castings with a torch before pouring the metal to insure that the babbitt would flow well. While doing that the putty did catch fire a little. I was able to easily blow out the flames and the putty held while I poured the metal, so it wasn't a problem. I'd say the the putty is not highly flammable, but it will scorch and burn a little if it gets too hot.
