R97 Pewter Casting Alloy is an excellent casting alloy with approximately R97 Pewter Casting Ingot~ 97% Tin 2.5 % Bismuth , .25% Silver .25 Copper - 466F - 566F . The melting temperature is around 466 F and the pouring temperature is approximately 100 degrees about that. The ingot is approximately 1 pound.
This alloy meets and exceeds ASTM F2923 - 11 standard for toxic metals in casting alloy.
R97 has silver in the alloy, which gives you a very bright casting when tubbed or polished.

R97 alloy works well in either silicone or vulcanized rubber, sand and bronze molds. Some customers tell us that they even cast into plaster. Runs approximately .27 pounds per cubic inch.
