Description

Hard Lead Mini Ingots – 25 lb Box (Rotometals Version)

A precision‑blended hard lead alloy containing approximately 2–4% antimony and balance lead, engineered for reliable performance in bullet casting, alloy blending, and general metal casting applications.

This alloy offers significantly greater hardness and durability than pure lead, delivering improved bullet integrity, better mold fill‑out, and enhanced resistance to deformation during handling and firing. Antimony strengthens the lead matrix, increasing hardness and making this alloy a preferred choice for casters who demand consistency and predictable results.

Each 25 lb box includes a convenient mix of 1 lb and ½ lb Rotometals mini ingots. The smaller ingot sizes melt quickly and evenly, giving casters precise control when adjusting alloy composition or topping off casting pots.

With a typical hardness of 10–13 Brinell (BHN), this alloy strikes an ideal balance between strength and castability—perfect for bullets, sinkers, ingots, and a wide range of molded lead products.

Why Hard Lead Alloys?

Adding antimony increases hardness, strength, and durability—making the alloy far more suitable for applications where pure lead would be too soft.

Hard lead alloys are commonly chosen for:

  • Stronger, more durable bullets

  • Improved mold fill‑out

  • Better wear resistance

  • Reliable casting performance
