Description

5 pound ingot

This ingot measures approximately 8-3/4" x 1" x 2"/

This is an alloy of 30% Antimony and 70% Lead that is a great source for hardening up your lead or wheel weights and is much easier to melt then pure antimony as we have done the alloying for you. This alloy will melt at around 745 Degrees which should be easy to reach in most small melting pots.

We sell Super Hard based on the percentage of antimony in the alloy. Note: We make no promise on Brinell Hardness of Super Hard, as the crystalline structure of the alloy does not allow us to properly measure it
, you would need a special commercial larger ball diameter machine in order to read the hardness correctly.

Lots of great info here about using super hard!

I use this super hard alloy to increase my bullet alloy to 22 BHN when using my Big Dipper furnace. Keeps me from having to use pure antimony with my propane burner and cast iron pan. Great product!

    Roto metals super hard alloy

Since Linotype is getting harder to find this is my alternative to my competition USPSA 150 grain coated bullet. 1 pound super hard alloy. Half a pound of 63/37 solder. 9 pounds of pure Lead. Gives me 10.5 pounds of BHN 12.1 Alloy. With 3% tin. 2.8% antimony. And 94% lead. You could quench it to raise up the BHN but for 9 mm at around 900 ft./s. 12.1 is perfect, especially when it’s coated.

As advertised. New to casting so I need accurate data; tested my supply at BHN 11, needed it to be BHN 15. Added the listed amount of SH and tested the outcome. Spot on.
