Lead-free, Fishing Tackle Weight Bismuth-Tin Alloy - 281

More excellent results with this stuff.Been noticing the difference in density when I checked the weights using a reloading scale.For example, a 1 oz. sinker weighed in at 390.5 grains,about 89% the weight it should have(437.5 grains=1 oz.).This is a minor issue,the simple solution is to make,or use,the next larger size to compensate for this.Going to start looking into marketing my line of leadfree tackle.Thanks again.

Casting my projects with this is great. It's easy to pour and heats quickly. The only thing I've noticed is if there's a small amount left in the melting pot, it tends to get too warm and produce a lot of slag. Keep your pot filled with this product, skim the top slag off and you'll have great castings with this. It's durable, and works well with most silicone. I've dropped a piece onto concrete without any scuffs or cracks.

Worked great with every jig and sinker mold I tried!I used a Palmer hot pot and Do-it molds.The Hot pot runs too hot,the alloy started to turn black ,so I plugged it into a Dremel speed control to get the temp down to 350-400 degrees F.This worked much better at this temp.After many years of casting lead,this stuff is very different.It cast beautifully,even in cold molds!I found it difficult to remove from the molds,a small pliers became necessary.It's also quite brittle compared to lead,the casting sprues snapped off readily.I can now make leadfree tackle.Will be ordering more soon.

This product was easy to melt and more durable than I expected. I cast a miniature with this without issues. Will purchase again.
