Rowell Bottom-pouring Ladles - Simply The Best!
All ladles, either pressed steel or cast iron, may have rough or sharp edges, burs, and in some cases, minor slag left behind from production leaving an "unfinished" appearance to some. We also recommend that you clean and /or sand your ladle prior to use to remove cutting oils, rust, or debris if present to prevent cross contamination to your pot/alloys. Our ladles are put through our QA process and meet our expectations, but for some reason if you are not satisfied we ask that you reach out to us via email with a picture of the issue so that we can address it.
Does what it said on the tin, as they say. Pours the metal clean, keeps the scum (slag) inside
I have a few Lee Magnum 20lb pots and ladle cast exclusively. These Rowell bottom pour ladles are just plain great! The #1 (2-1/4”) is perfect sized for the 4” bowls in the 20lb lead pots. It holds PLENTY of lead to cast 6 cavity molds, and lets you do it at a good pace. The bottom pour design is just great and keeps giving you nice hot clean lead. The cast iron bowl holds heat very well. Why pay more or the same for a tiny casting ladle that only holds a ounce or couple ounces of lead, when for the same price you can get one of these bottom pour ladles that hold a good POUND of lead? If you ladle cast bullets? I HIGHLY suggest getting one of these #1 Rowell ladles. It’s the perfect size, and you won’t be disappointed.
I'm a small time lead smelter. This ladle has immediately became my favorite. It works as intended.
Works great I love it
works well on both 2 and 6 molds. Easier to skip dross
This what I wanted
Works beautifully to cast from a ladle, for a right handed person.
delivered on time as per picture, bowl could have been ground a little cleaner
After fighting with my LEE 4-20 pot to get the nozzle to function correctly, I finally purchased this 1 lb. bottom pour ladle. The ladle works great. Not too large to fit in my 20 lb. pot and I can easily fill any 6 cavity mold with a large sprue and still have lead in the ladle.
