Our graphite-coated, high-antimony Magnum Lead Shot (American Standard) has the equivalent hardness factor of 3-5% Antimonial Lead Alloy.

Magnum Lead Shot is harder and slightly less dense than Chilled lead shot. Harder shot is more prone to retain its spherical shape during the firing sequence. Some shooters prefer Magnum's hardness advantage because it will likely pattern more predictably than softer shot. Magnum lead shot usually contains about 3-5% antimony.

    Given the shipping cost, I usually buy shot locally. But it's tough to find anything other than no. 7-1/2 and no. 8 around here lately - and sometimes you can't even find that. So I paid a little more than I was expecting, but I'm happy with the product. Round (as viewed under 10X magnification) and clean, with only a rare case of fused shot (i.e. snowmen). And it comes in traditional canvas (reusable) bags - not the plastic bags that others are using these days.
