Tin October 24, 2011
Reviewer: Richard Hull from Richmond, VA United States
Tin is one of the most naturally lusterous and silvery of all metals and doesn't tarnish to any great degree in normal air.

It forms hundreds of alloys as it is blends readily with many other metals to form low melting point allows.

Its low melting point allows it to be readily cast into simple molds to produce brilliant objects than need little post casting attention.

Scientifically, Tin has more naturally occuring stable isotopes within it than any other element known to man.  10 in total.  "ten in tin" is an easy way to remember this interesting fact.  Most common metals have only one or two stable isotopes found in them. Why is this?  No one knows.

Tin is an island of sorts in the periodic table of elements where ten different forms of Tin atoms with ten different numbers of neutrons can co-exist without being radioactive, a very rare occurance indeed.
