Description

Bismuth Shot #7 ( ~.10", 2.5 mm)

New! Bismuth shot for reloading shotgun shells. Rotometals Bismuth Shot is alloyed with 6% tin to increase pellet integrity. Bismuth is one of the softest of all the non-toxic alternative shot types making it very suitable for old double guns and other shotguns with fixed chokes. Rotometals Bismuth Shot is a great non-toxic alternative to lead. No other non-toxic shot performs this similar to lead.

353 Pellets per OZ.  Bismuth's density is 9.6 grams/cubic centimeter.

Roundness- Note unlike lead or steel  Bismuth shot is not round, but will still shoot and pattern excellent! BB's may have small satellites or tails but this actually helps to not generate as much drag in the air similar to a golf ball ie less sticky in the air.

This is a good size for dove and quail, much better than steel and much less expensive than any tungsten. Ships in a nice shot bag. Delivery time was ok.

    Bismuth #7 shot

Posted by CHRIS STEPHENS on Jun 7th 2019

In anticipation of the new California nontoxic requirement for doves and quail I loaded up 200 shells with #7 for my 28 gauge SxS and tried them out on barn pigeons. They worked beautifully. I'm planning on using the Rotometals Bismuth shot for all of my upland hunting in CA.

    Number 7 bismuth shot

Posted by James Sewejkis on Apr 4th 2019

I took numerous samples and measured them and found that 95% were between .095 and .100 inches which is adequate for snipe and quail where non-toxic shot is required.
